Supporting you through challenging times — and helping you feel confident again
Hi, I’m Fran – a therapeutic counsellor based in Ludlow, Shropshire. I offer face-to-face sessions locally and online across the UK.
I support adults (18+) who are feeling anxious, stuck, or overwhelmed to make sense of their experiences and feel more confident and connected to themselves — with compassion, humour, and without judgement. Alongside my private practice, I also work with EAPs and charitable services.
My background includes roles in mental health services, including supporting individuals in a secure prison unit, which sparked my fascination with what shapes people’s lives. I’ve always been drawn to supporting others, and counselling felt like a natural path.
I work in a warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth way. I won’t judge or try to ‘fix’ you, but I will listen with care, help you make sense of what’s happening, and support you in finding your own way forward. I see the therapeutic relationship as central to growth and healing. Therapy doesn’t need to feel clinical — it can be human, supportive, and even include moments of humour and warmth.
I’ve also experienced my own trauma and loss, so I understand how difficult it can be to ask for support — or to sit with the feelings that come up when you do. My own experiences have helped me develop a deep respect for each person’s journey, and a genuine belief that healing is possible, even when things feel overwhelming or unclear.
Clients often say I bring a calm, steady presence, and that I help them feel accepted just as they are. I’m someone who will be your cheerleader when you need it — and yes, I’ll happily join in with a bit of swearing or make the occasional rubbish joke when it feels right! I don’t take life too seriously — but seriously enough to support you with care and respect, and to help you find your way through whatever’s holding you back.
I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. This means I’m committed to offering you a safe, confidential, and respectful space where you can feel supported — just as you are.
I offer face-to-face sessions from the Wetmore Clinic, a peaceful countryside practice located in Onibury, just outside Ludlow, Shropshire. The space is private, quiet, and designed to help you feel at ease.
There is on-site parking available, and I’m based on the ground floor. The building has wheelchair access, but please let me know if you require any additional support with access and I’ll do my best to help.
If you're based further afield — or simply prefer the comfort of your own space — I also offer online sessions across the UK via a secure video platform. All you need is a confidential space such as a bedroom, office, or stationary vehicle where you can speak freely without interruption
